Life is different for everyone. A blank canvas that materializes over the course of it's existence. Relative to each of us as it may be, we wake each and every day given the opportunity to forge our very own history. Some rise above and become great, perhaps legendary. Others merely exist and conform to those surrounding.

How we shape and paint our own personal canvas of life is a reflection of the choices we make. Choices that in themselves can sometimes be deeply compelling. Every decision we make represents a fork in the road, a chance at something new. Some go their entire life never questioning while others continuously search for real truths. Most in life follow...while a select few lead. They are a smaller group of individuals that consists of those looking for a deeper meaning to life. A path less traveled.

Why is the choice between what we believe we know and an unknown 'real' truth, found through discovery and sacrifice, so fascinating yet practically ignored by most of the world? How could a choice possibly be made between real truth and conformity?

The real question worth asking is whether reality, truth, is worth pursuing. Most of society today as it exists chooses to leave things as they are, in a life consisting of habit, of things we believe we know. We are comfortable, we do not need truth to live. We simply live lives of habit like commuting to work every day, or brushing our teeth.

On the other hand is an unknown quantity. Deep down for some is an overwhelming desire to find the truth. We don't know what that truth is, or even that we will find it, only that we have a chance to discover a deeper meaning. In order to answer the question, we gamble our whole life and world on a reality we have never experienced.

To risk or not? By accepting what we are told and experience, life can be easier. There is the social pressure to 'fit in', which is immensely strong in most cultures. Questioning the status quo carries the danger of ostracism, possibly persecution. Those doing well under the current system are not inclined to look favorably on those who question. As a result much of society is so inured, so hopelessly dependent on their illusions of life that they will fight to protect it.

I say...

Dare to be different. Question and be true to yourself. Have the courage to follow your own heart and dreams. Become exonerated; own your life!
